International Nurses Day 2022

Remembering the people who help us both today and from the past.

The Ladybirds had an exciting day today, as they celebrated International Nurses Day 2022.

We have been learning about nurses, and in particular about Florence Nightingale. To help the children understand about the past, we firstly completed some family trees to help them to comprehend the passing of time. This then put things into a context that was easier to understand when considering when Florence Nightingale was  busy helping soldiers who were wounded or unwell many years ago.

Back to the present day, the Ladybirds are developing their knowledge of people who help us, such as nurses, doctors, paramedics and carers.

Well done to everyone for their efforts and enthusiasm to dress up this week. Thank you for your support ; the children had a wonderful and productive day.
