Ready, Steady, Cook!

Apple Crumble Cake goes down a treat!

The weather has certainly taken a turn for the worse, just to let us know that Autumn is well and truly here. With that in mind, please ensure all children have a weather-proof coat to wear in order to keep them dry and warm.

Year 1 have been busy baking and produced some fine examples of Apple Crumble Cake. At least the children remembered all the ingredients needed in their versions, unlike Mrs. Vaughan who omitted the egg. No soggy bottoms shall we say, but no Hollywood handshake either for you for Mrs. Vaughan.

Reception have been busy learning their new sounds if e, u, r and ck. They have also been using instruments to accompany the Grand of Duke of York song. The class are also really pleased that their Little Wandle reading groups have started.

Year 2 have written a lovely class poem for National Poetry Day on the theme of play. They obviously know how to have fun in that class. They have also been learning about consequences and rewards in PSHE.

Mr. Millings has been in to both schools to take some fantastic, new images for our websites. If you have not seen them yet, please make sure you do because the children look extremely happy in action: in class working and on the playground playing. He is set to return to take some more photos of Years 1 and 2 soon, when the weather breaks again.

Next week on Thursday, Reception have their height and weight checks and on Friday, it is World Mental Health Day, so we would like everyone to wear something yellow.

Have a relaxing weekend everyone!
