Why does it always rain on me?

Children refuse to allow the rain to dampen the Children in Need mood!

The week has ended with some torrential rain and whilst this would certainly dampen the mood of the most positive of people, it did nothing to soak the willingness to commemorate Children in Need and raise some much needed funds for such a worthy cause. The children wore Pudsey ears and a variety of non-uniform T-Shirts and tops dedicated to the charity. They also completed some Pudsey-related activities in Golden Time.

On Monday, children adorned odd socks in order to highlight the important message of Anti-Bullying Week. The related assembly was shown and the children all grasped why it was significant. I have to say whilst children fall out from time to time, as children do, there are no pockets of regular bullying between individuals which is a testament to the pupils' understanding of our ethos.

Remembrance Day was also commemorated on Tuesday with our Junior school pupils, Church, members of the Royal British Legion and parents. It is vitally important to keep the memory of the sacrifice so many made alive, especially with our children because as each year goes by we lose more and more of the last survivors from that period in history.

Some of our Governors visited on Thursday to carry out a challenge day and here they conducted a learning walk with the focus on Maths, as well as Behaviour and Attitudes, plus they spoke with the Maths Subject Coordinator and pupils from all years with their Maths work. They were pleased with so much during their time with us and gave us positive feedback, which we will discuss at next week's meeting.

Next week, we have further fantastic learning to look forward to and on Friday some of the Year 1 children head off to ENSFC for speed stacking, whilst our Year 2 children travel over to Strangers' Hall.

Stay safe and dry everyone!
