Artistic Talent on Show!

Dodgeball left a glowing response!
It has been another busy week in each class. We have seen some very lovely artwork in Reception as you can see from the picture.
Personally, I have enjoyed going into Bumblebees to observe how teaching and learning was taking place. I saw some very engaged children in there completing their retelling of the Owl Who Was Afraid of the Dark. They were all trying really hard with their presentation and using the working wall to ensure they spelled key vocabulary accurately. I also enjoyed going into the Rainbow Room to experience the calmness of a supported group of children forming their sentences with word tabs. They were doing very well remembering how sentences must start and end and placing the words in the correct order for each one to make grammatical sense. A good session all round.
There has been a bout of sickness going through the school this week, which has sadly affected several children and staff. Please be reassured that our cleaning staff have ensured that a deeper cleanse has taken place to reduce any further impact. Please can I stress to all parents that should a child have sickness and diarrhoea, we impose a strict forty-eight hours quarantine rule from the last time a child was sick. Whilst we appreciate this might be inconvenient for working families, this is there to prevent the spread of illness to others.
On Wednesday the school benefitted from an enrichment session of Glow-in-the-Dark Dodgeball. We tried to make it as dark as we could in the Hall, so I think had it have been darker, it would have been more challenging to see the opponents. It was an enjoyable session for the children to participate in.
Next week, there are the Hearing, Height and Weight checks for Reception on Thursday 5th February and on Friday 6th February, due to it being National Storytelling Week, we have commissioned a local Yarnsmith to visit and recant some tales.
Have a relaxing weekend everyone.
