Book Fever!

World Book Day draws the Travelling Book Fair to a close!

As we draw ever closer to Easter, the weeks are simply getting busier and busier. As we all know, this week has seen the Travelling Book Fair continue and we are hoping that the sales we have made will generate a decent commission for us to re-invest back into the school. It was great to see so many parents visiting to peruse the stock with their children and make a purchase or two. Reading is such a vital life skill.

On Tuesday, our School Improvement Partner visited to go through how the school was currently operating and she was pleased with what she saw in each class. She had a real focus on handwriting and pointed out some small improvements we could implement straight away to have a consistent message around children being ready to write.

Coincidentally and conveniently, World Book Day fell on Thursday and this gave everyone, including staff, the chance to put on a costume of a well-known book character or, as some opted for, come to school in their pyjamas. Clearly, from the picture above Harry Potter was demonstrating to Tiger-Lily how skilled in magic he was. I got the chance to perform a couple of extracts from Roald Dahl stories during assembly and this meant I could bring some of the characters to life much to the amusement of the children.

I was also impressed by the first joint rehearsal of the choir in readiness for the Norfolk County Music Festival on 17.3.26. The children are so enthusiastic and I look forward to seeing how the Infant children match their Junior counterparts, who have already recently performed.

Next week, we have further rehearsals together for the choir.

Have a relaxing weekend everyone!
