Crash! Bang! Wallop!
Spaceship crash lands on the grounds!
On Wednesday afternoon a small, unidentified spacecraft crash landed into the trees just off the playground at school. There was an almighty and thunderous noise and when I looked out the above scene confronted me. A trail of silver dust had covered the trees and ground and within the branches rested a strange object. I wondered what on earth it could have been. For safety reasons, I taped off the area and used some cones to highlight a dangerous zone to stay out of, so nobody approached too closely. Hopefully, the children can investigate and find out more details about the incident recording their findings in their writing books. I look forward to seeing what they come up with...imagination in action!
This week I have been conducting a learning walk on the effectiveness of writing. I have been impressed with what I have seen in the classes as the children I spoke to all liked writing and could give me solid reasons why they liked it.
It was great that so many children supported the Meat Free lunch on Tuesday. I could clearly see they enjoyed what was on offer and were happy to sing the little song which had been part of my assembly the week before: "One day a week, eat less meat!" We do really have a very eco-friendly bunch in school at the moment.
The sun has been out a lot recently, so we are going to enjoy going on the field soon to explore the outdoor, nature area, using our imaginations to come up with some wonderful ideas on how to creatively use the natural materials. We are also busily planning a new approach to our Sports Day for this year. Once we have it finalised, we will let you know.
Next week, teachers will be analysing their pupil progress data with senior leaders and I look forward to seeing how well our pupils are doing.
Have a lovely weekend everyone!
