Anyone for Golf?
Premier Sports provides a Tri-Golf Virtual Competition Experience!
Welcome back everyone to a new year and a new term. Hopefully, you will have all received the Spring Term events' calendar and my newsletter and can see that, despite it being a shorter term, there are still lots of exciting things planned for the weeks ahead and more is being prepared behind the scenes as we speak. We will let you know of any new elements in due course.
Apologies for the enforced closure due to snow and ice on Tuesday, but despite the caretaker's best efforts the weather beat him and it was simply too unsafe to open. Whilst I appreciate it may have been an inconvenience for working parents, the correct decision was made. I am sure the children enjoyed the snow at home though.
Our staff training day on Monday was collectively undertaken with about fifteen other schools and the training centred around children with SEMH needs. We were shown the benefits of Colour Therapy and had the Hand Model of the Brain explained, which I have attached as a parental guide below for those who would like to learn about it. It is also something which can be shared with specific children who may "Flip their Lid" due to an underdeveloped sense of emotional regulation.
This week, as you can see from the image above, the children were given a Virtual Competition in Tri-Golf courtesy of Premier Sports. The children have done really well in these different competitions previously and that is how the Infants were rewarded with an enrichment session in Glow-in-the-dark Dodgeball, which will be coming up soon.
Next week, teachers will be preparing for Pupil Progress meetings, which gives me a greater insight into the progress each class are making. Let us all hope for a fantastic term.
Have a great weekend everyone!
