Tasting Time!
Year 2 enjoy the tastes of the Mediterranean!
Welcome back to a new half-term! We have not rested on our laurels and have returned with a great pace to our learning.
The Year 2 children were extremely enthusiastic about taste-testing some different foods this week, such as salami, pepperoni, olives, pecorino and mozzarella. It was commendable to see how prepared everyone was to give new things a go and actually uncover that there are new tastes that they do like. Well done Bumblebees!
We have had the Travelling Book Fair visiting us this week and this will be collected next Wednesday, so please make sure you take a look and can I encourage as many of you as possible to make a purchase, because every book sold generates commission from Scholastic which can be re-invested back into the school. Do not forget to ensure you use your World Book Day vouchers too to get a pound reduction.
Year 1 have been over to the Junior school to exploit the appeal of the immersive classroom. They were studying under the sea, so got to explore being inside a shark cage as well as being under the ocean amongst the coral to see all the marine life that would be there. I believe there is a Sealife Centre trip possibly in the making so stay tuned!
Friday saw a local Cricket coach visit to instruct the children in the basic of Cricket as part of the Chance to Shine campaign. I could clearly see some budding potential from many of the children, so let us hope their enjoyment during the session turns into future membership at our local Cricket clubs.
Next week, we have World Book Day on Thursday 5th March, where we have invited all children to come dressed as their favourite book character or dressed in pyjamas. We will also be beginning our rehearsals with Mrs. White-Joubert in preparation for our trip to Norfolk County Music Festival.
Have a lovely weekend everyone!
