This week we have started our new topic all about the Norfolk Broads. Bumblebee Class enjoyed a talk by Nick Sanderson on Monday who works for the Broads Authority. We found out lots of interesting facts about the Broads including what they are, how they were made and what animals you might find there. Nick even showed us some of the tools that people in the past would have used.
We are all looking forward to our trip to Barton Turf Broad on Wednesday!
Year One children loved our trip to Bewilderwood on Wednesday, 13th July! Great fun was had by all getting splashed by Mildred, whizzing along the zipwires, listening to stories and flying down the slides!! Not to mention lots of exploring and climbing!
This week has been Science Week. The children investigated a question from our Science homework chosen by School Council. Bumblebees found out how and why it rains!
The children have also carried out lots of investigations for their Science Crest Award. We loved making our own bubble wands to see if you can get different shaped and sized bubbles!
We have had a fun-filled day learning all about the Queen and celebrating her 70 years on the throne. Children enjoyed making their own crowns and having a special jubilee lunch. Don't they all look great as kings, queens and dressed in red, white and blue?!
The children have had a busy week learning all about Florence Nightingale! We enjoyed a visit from East Norfolk Sixth Form College on Monday where we found out lots of interesting facts about her life. For example, did you know Florence Nightingale loved animals and had a pet owl and tortoise, as well as owning 60 cats in her lifetime?! We then celebrated International Nurses Day on what would have been Florence Nightingale's birthday by coming to school dressed as doctors and nurses!
