What a Hoot!

Owl visit causes a flap!

It was fabulous to see the owls visiting the school again this week to support the children's learning. Even better, was that the children took what they had heard and seen and put it into their independent writing. Such a fantastic use of vocabulary made the owl experience so worthwhile. I even got to hold an owl alongside other staff, which was different. Thank you to the Owl specialist for coming in.

On Monday, our Infant pupils got to see Mr. King from Premier once again who came in to deliver a WOW day of health and fitness activities with each class. As we all know a healthy body creates a healthy mind, so instilling this message into the children is important.

Tuesday saw Safer Internet Day and each class spent some time going through some internet safety studies and completing some activities to ensure our children keep safe online. With technology playing such a significant part in modern society, it is essential the children from a young age have the knowledge to avoid potential risks and dangers, whether this be through gaming, internet surfing or simply inputting their personal and sensitive details online.

From Monday 12th February, we are going to be trialling a new zonal approach to help structure lunch breaks more enabling children to maintain more responsible play. We will review this in a few weeks time.

We also have the midweek movie viewing next week on Wednesday 14th February, so I hope to see as many children there as possible. Also, do not forget on Friday we have an enrichment day of ball games to enjoy, so please make sure all children are in PE kits. .

Have a great weekend everyone!
